The excellent quality of WilliamsWarn beer became evident for all to see in June 2012, when a WilliamsWarn brewer won Gold for his Pilsner at the Asia Beer Awards, beating 45 full-scale breweries. It was the first time a homebrewer had ever beaten the big players. In 2016, a few weeks after its launch, the BrewKeg50™ won the Champion of Innovation Award at the Fine Food NZ Awards, due to its ability to enable bars and restaurants to become their own breweries and increase their profits.
